My name is Amber Martin and I am a native of Rainier, Washington. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Communications with emphasis in broadcast production. I am currently working towards my graduate degree in Public Relations at Full Sail University (online). I believe that as a participant in life I must neither follow nor lead, but influence others through actions of service, compassion and community. That means volunteering, sharing the amazing stories of others in my community and looking for the good things in life. This also means being aware of my surroundings and listening to people and their needs. I enlisted in the United States Army in August 2007 at the age of 23 as a Combat Documentation Production Specialist. I currently work in a Public Affairs shop with 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) located in Fort Carson, Colorado. I have completed two combat deployments to Afghanistan, a joint interoperability exercise in Africa and an exercise in the Philippines where I assisted through humanitarian aid missions. The Army has allowed my to serve along side some amazing people as well as experience and learn things about the world and myself. I want to continue to take those experiences and influence people to help me create a world where we can all grow, learn and share together through positive interactions. Throughout my career I has been recognized as Distinguished Honor Graduate in the Basic Photography Course and Video Production Course at the Defense Information School in Fort Meade, Maryland. I also received Honor Graduate, Iron Sergeant and the Distinguished Leadership award upon graduating from the Advanced Leaders Course at the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy in Fort Meade, Maryland.
